Dolphin Race I (by Ethan)
It was a rainy day. I was so bored, I felt like going to my neighbor, Joe.
Then, I heard a noise from the water. I got Joe and went to the beach. We found two dolphins.
“Hello. I’m Gerek.” The first one said.
“What’s up? I’m Talcon.” the second one said. I immediately bonded with Gerek, while Joe bonded with Talcon. Gerek told me that he and Talcon were rookie racers going to their first official game and got lost.
“Where is the game?” I asked. “The Atlantic Ocean.” Gerek replied. I was shocked. That was where Atlantis was. I got two of my family masks that have room for you to talk. I gave one to Joe, and then we were ready to go. It took 13 hours including bathroom breaks and fast food. When we got there, we found out that the race took place through every place in the Atlantis. Gerek and Talcon were still ready.
“RACERS! START YOUR FINS!” the announcer said over the loudspeaker. The team right next to us, The Bull Sharks, started saying horrible things like, “You two humans are our appetizers!” “Be careful! These algae can take that weird mask off!” or
“Hey you! Yeah, you! Are ya’ ready for your Third Loser Place Kingdom?!”. I felt rage bubbling up my skin. Didn’t they know that they’re getting on my nerves!
“Let’s see about----never mind!” The starting alarm rang and we were starting. We were in 4th place until The Bull Sharks knocked me off Gerek! Joe helped me up back onto Gerek. Talcon started going forward. Gerek raced to Talcon, who was getting slapped by The Bull Sharks’ tails! I punched one of them in the stomach. They were mad at us and chased us way into first place. Apparently, Atlantis had streets. I had an idea. I grabbed a piece of hydro waterproof paper and drew a plan. I showed it to Joe. He nodded and went in another direction.
“Okay, Gerek, let’s see how fast you can swim!” I told Gerek. He really went like lightning. Unfortunately, the Bull Sharks had propellers. I went off track and went through a restaurant!
“Gerek!” I yelled. The Bull Sharks cut us off at the entrance. Gerek suddenly swam up and went through the ceiling. We saw the finish line. We went so fast; no one knew that we passed until we stopped speeding. “And the winners are… the Dolphin Racers!” The Bull Sharks were angry. “We’ll beat you on the next race.” It was time to go home. When we reached shore, they thanked us for accompanying them. We went home while the dolphins, Gerek and Talcon, went home.
THE END!
